How to Help the 20 Million Flood Victims In Pakistan
posted by Citizen You Blog Team on August 25, 2010
Since early August, unprecedented flooding has devastated much of Pakistan. Despite the urgent need described by aid workers and government officials, international aid for victims of the devastating flood has gotten off to a slow start.
This tragedy has taken on epic and devastating proportions. It is difficult to understand the scale of this disaster: the floods have affected and displaced an estimated 20 million people, which is more than the population of all of New York State and about one-fifth of the country is currently under water.
You can always support traditional relief efforts by donating to well-known organizations working on the ground including CARE, Oxfam, UNICEF and World Vision.
