Welcome to CitizenYou.org

"We're living in an extraordinary moment in history — a time when the world is calling out for a new corps of citizen activists who are prepared and willing to tackle the global challenges we face. In response, we're seeing the birth of a new model of civic engagement — a model of active citizenship, being shaped by thousands of individuals and organizations that are exploring new ways of addressing social problems."
-Jonathan Tisch, Citizen You

Welcome!

When Jonathan Tisch, CEO of Loews Hotels, began creating Citizen You, he wanted to do more than simply write a book. He wanted to highlight the new and innovative ways that passionate citizens are working to change the world. And he envisioned an open forum where citizens can come together to share their experiences and ideas.

CitizenYou.org is that forum.

The story of Tim Wayne Medvetz will show you what Citizen You is all about. After suffering a near-fatal motorcycle accident, Tim didn't know if he would ever walk again. Several years later, he's not just walking — he's climbing some of the world's tallest mountains, and he's helping U.S veterans while he does it.

With the organization he founded, The Hero Project, Tim is helping returning veterans to regain their hope and self-confidence by providing them and their families with life-changing climbing trips. Currently, Tim is raising money for The Hero Project's next trip, which will bring injured veterans to Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

Tim is just one example of an everyday citizen who challenged himself to make a difference and discovered a fresh way to help solve one of our nation's problems. And Tim's inspiring story is just one of many you'll be able to read on CitizenYou.org.

In addition to telling those stories, CitizenYou.org allows you to get involved by spreading the word about the book, sharing your own story, and volunteering in your own community.

We hope to see you back at CitizenYou.org soon!
